Simon was born on the 12th December 1973, he was such a small baby, mum and dad said they could hold him with one hand he was that small.

He grew up with two younger siblings, Robert and Julie-Ann.

Simon was always the sensible one and also the caring one.

I remember from a young age Simon sitting in the back garden fixing radios and other electronic things, even if they were not broke he still had a fiddle at them to find out how they worked.

He was a gentle and compassionate soul, that always had time to talk to everyone, and always listened to you, but never judged you no matter what.

I always remember him in front of the sink washing dishes...he said it was soothing !!, or out cleaning his car, it was always gleaming.

Simon took me out for a drive one day and I remember hiding in the foot well of the car as I hated the sound of the exhaust as you always heard him coming for miles, I was embarssed but he loved it .....these are some of the good memories I can remember of him, most of my memories are good, we only had the odd argument but we always made up, he was my hero and to this day still is, I always looked up to him and wanted to be like him.

He got a job as a technician in a local electronics factory and it was his ideal job, he loved working with his hands and especially at electronic items, His greatest ambition in life was to be a pilot but that never happened due to his eyesight not being perfect.

Simon had a passion for music, any type really but he always had MTV on 24 hours a day, or he would of been watching star trek....I had many fights for the remote control as I wanted to watch something else, but he always won, he was alot bigger than me !!

Simon had many friends and a close circle of good friends especially one called Conal, these two grew up together and always remained close, they were two peas in a pod.

A poem I wrote for Simon

Thinking Of You

Not an hour nor day passes

When I don't think of you

You were and still are my hero

And will be my whole life through

You were a huge part of my life

My knowledge I got from you

But when you left me here alone

The memories carried me through

And now you are an uncle to a little girl

And in her laughs smiles and tears

I see your face in hers

I know you are looking down on us

With a glint in your eye

Listening and watching

Everyday that passes by

My dear friend and brother

I miss and love you so

No matter the years that pass

The memories I won't let go

From your sis xxx
